Proposed Alignment Concept Public Comments and Recommendations
More than 400 comments were received from the public during the Grant Road Improvement Plan Proposed Alignment Concept public comment period, October 15 – November 17, 2008. The Grant Road Citizens Task Force, planning team and the City of Tucson would like to thank the many people who reviewed the Proposed Alignment Concept, provided input, and asked questions.
The document linked below lists all comments received. Where applicable, recommendations presented to the Task Force for consideration are also listed. None of the recommendations on this document are final at this time.
There were a number of comments about the Proposed Alignment Concept, but many of the comments received as about aspects of the improvement project that have no direct effect on the Proposed Alignment Concept. These are comments related to issues such as access, land use, streetscape, and parking all of which will be discussed in depth during 2009 after the alignment has been finalized and surveyed.
During that planning and discussion in 2009 an extensive land use planning process will occur and all neighborhood and area plans along Grant Road will be carefully considered. The plans will be used to inform decisions made about future land use, design treatments, landscaping and other factors. This land use planning process will involve an extensive public participation process with neighborhood associations and other stakeholders.
