Answers

What is MainStreet?

MainStreet is a regional small business assistance program focused on minimizing the construction impact on businesses located along RTA roadway projects. This program is available to any business that is located within the project construction outreach area and who wishes to participate. Remember construction projects can often have significant effects on businesses, most notably the potential loss of income due to a number of construction impact factors.

How will I know if I need business assistance?

Whether you will need assistance often depends on many factors (the nature of the project, start dates, construction schedules, size, scope, proximity to planned improvements, etc.) and the nature of your business (retail, service, office, manufacturing, dispatch, destination or convenience, etc.). Let us work with you to assess your particular needs and offer our experience and advice.

What is involved in the consulting process?

Typically, a consultant from MainStreet will meet with you to answer any questions and to discuss your anticipated business needs. For many businesses, this may be as simple as ensuring the receipt of timely project updates, traffic control plans and other communications. However, other businesses may desire a more complete analysis, resulting in a prioritization of consulting options. From this point, services are provided with a final follow-up process allowing for assessment and feedback of the MainStreet program.

Will my private business information remain confidential?

Why do you want my e-mail?

E-mail has proven to be the quickest, most effective and least costly method to disseminate project information. We ask for your business or a personal e-mail to assist us in reaching you with program information, timely project updates, traffic control plans, etc. to better serve you.

What results can I expect?

In general, the better prepared a business is, the greater the chance for success. MainStreet can only provide access to tools and services that have historically worked. However, the level of success that you will experience depends heavily on your willingness to participate, your "can do" positive attitude, and your determination to plan and implement a variety of mitigation strategies both in and out of this program. It is far better to be proactive than reactive.
